WHAT IS A SLEEP STUDY?
Sleep study (also known as polysomnography or PSG) is a comprehensive test that involves monitoring various body activities and physiological parameters related to sleep and breathing. It provides vital information about sleep architecture and respiratory patterns experienced during sleep and is administered to either diagnose or rule out different types of sleep disorders.
All our sleep studies are performed at The Sleep Cottage where your child’s sleep is monitored by a professional team. Your child is more than welcome to bring some comfort items, including favourite bedtime toys, pillow or blanket, and superhero jammies (NO ONSIES). And since you will be staying with them in the same room for the whole night, they should be able to relax knowing they’re not alone.
At The Sleep Cottage we use innovative technologies and sleep monitoring equipment that’s mainly wireless, so your child’s movements aren’t restricted, and they can settle in for a comfortable night. While there will be sensors and electrodes attached to their body (head, chest, abdomen, arms and legs), the procedure is non-invasive and painless.
For almost 100% of our patients, one night at The Sleep Cottage is enough to perform a complete sleep study. Arrive with your child 5.30pm and go back home at 6.00 am in the morning. Return at a convenient appointment time to discuss the results and treatment options. It’s as simple as that!
Our team is made up of experienced and friendly doctors, nurses, and administrative staff who are dedicated to providing you with the best care possible. Get to know our team and their qualifications on our website.
